Project Description

I was extremely close with my grandmother. Her death was/is especially hard for me. BUT, the day we buried her was just breathtaking. The sun was shining, the sky was bright blue, and the cherry blossoms were in FULL bloom… and a gentle breeze was causing petals to fall to the ground all around us. Remembering the beauty and peace of that day helps me a great deal… it breaks my heart that not everyone has the privilege of saying goodbye to their loved ones the same way. That is why I beaded cherry blossoms, with petals falling. I wanted to share some of that feeling with the families, friends, and loved ones of the 600+ women this project is honouring.
