Project Description

The Meskwaki flag is simple but has traditional concepts. The green color represents spring peace or life. The red color represents fall, war or death. The green is placed on top to express the hope that Spring will arrive, peace will prevail and life will always endure. The red is joined to it because the reality is that fall always follows, war is always threatening and death always comes.
The blue bead on each vamp represents women. The right side has the women with four beads surrounding her that represents the four directions, the Meskwaki flag is below and fully colored, showing a complete life. The left side has the women with no beads surrounding her and an incomplete flag….

The incompleteness is for our missing and murdered women.
