Walking With Our Sisters Indigenous Youth Talent Showcase

INDIGENOUS YOUTH SHOWCASE

Come support Indigenous youth in the Ottawa area for the third Walking With Our Sisters – Ottawa Community Conversation! All community members are welcome, and Indigenous youth under 30 are invited to come, perform, and showcase their talents. Any artistic talent, whether it is spoken word, music, song, dance, storytelling, comedy is welcome; be creative! Contact Josh at joshdeanlewis22@gmail.com to sign up as a performer.

This will be a fundraiser for installation costs for Walking With Our Sisters Ottawa. Admission will be a suggested donation of $10, nobody will be turned away for lack of funds. There will also be a sale during the community conversation of Indian Tacos and baked goods.

WHEN: Saturday, January 31st, 6 – 10 pm
WHERE: St. Pauls Eastern United Church, 473 Cumberland St

6-7 – Youth drummers will open the evening as people arrive.
7-8 – Community conversation, with a focus on how youth are impacted and responding to missing and murdered Indigenous girls, women, and Two-Spirits.
8-10 – Talent show.

Performers confirmed include: Brock Lewis, Sage Picody, Spirit Flowers, Josh Lewis.

Accessibility notes for St. Paul’s
– There is a handicap elevator directly accessible from the street, and joining the sanctuary and the other floors.
– One washroom is fully accessible, the other not.
